D.R.I.V.E. Dollars Give Us Strength
As the old saying goes, “money talks” when it comes to politics.

Big Business spends big money in Washington, D.C., and here in Michigan, to try and influence elected officials and push their anti-worker plans.  Studies show that wealthy corporations outspend working families when it comes to political action by a shocking 15-to-1 margin.  Yes, money talks.

Through grassroots political action and aggressive lobbying on Capitol Hill and in State Houses and City Halls across America, Teamsters have fought against some of the worst attacks on working people. However, the enemies of workers are persistent and continue trying to undercut our efforts, weaken our unions and enhance power of the powerful at our expense.

Today, as we have seem far too many times, Big Business is pushing their agenda harder than ever. Michigan’s new right-to-work work law is proof that the enemies of workers and determined to spend whatever amount they must to create their “union free utopia” where employers call all the shots.

Times are tough for working families, and this means we have to fight back stronger than ever. We must also move forward with our own programs and initiatives, like improving job safety, fighting for quality education, ending injustice on their job, and making sure working men and women are treated with the respect we deserve.

You can take a stand for working families by contributing to D.R.I.V.E – the Teamsters’ political action program.  Your $1/week voluntary contribution will support grassroots action by Teamster families to stand up to big business interests.  Your donations are put to good use educating members about issues and candidates in elections.  They are also used to support candidates who understand the issues of working families and will pledge to fight for our rights after they are elected.  D.R.I.V.E. gives us a valuable resource to use to help pro-worker candidates compete in the political arena.

Contributions to D.R.I.V.E. support a wide range of Teamster activities:

Keeping members and their families informed on the key issues that affect our future, including voter guides that show the records of our Senators and Representatives in Congress.

Rallies, news conferences, advertisements, and phone banks to build support on issues of concern to working people.

Help Make A Positive Difference.  Sign Up For D.R.I.V.E. Today!

Voter registration, and financial support for political candidates who will stand up for working families. DRIVE is non-partisan and independent from any political party.

Remember, no union dues are used to support political activities.  Voluntary donations to D.R.I.V.E. are an essential part of our overall political action program — a program focused on doing what is best for working families here in Michigan.

Election year is here and we need your help.  Please call your local union today and sign up for D.R.I.V.E.  Your $1/week donation may not seem like much, but when combined with the dollars from hard-working Teamsters like yourself, these add up to real dollars that can make a real political impact.
